How do we understand people?
You must learn to understand people as it is fundamental if you desire to have tremendous success in the mlm industry. So the question becomes how do we understand other people when understanding ourselves is almost impossible.
We all have heard and experienced the problems with understanding our spouses, and all of the jokes of understanding our wives or women in general like this one:
Once upon a time, there was a man. A genie appeared to the man, and offered him one wish.
"Well," said the man, "I've always wanted to go to Fiji, but plane tickets are so expensive, and boats are so slow. Can you build a bridge from Los Angeles to Fiji?"
"I'm sorry, man," the genie said. "You're pretty much asking for the impossible. That's six thousand miles of bridge. Plus, you'll need fuel stations and motels on the way. I'm sorry, but you're going to have to ask for something else."
"Oh," said the disappointed man. "Well, can you grant me the ability to understand women?"
The genie cleared his throat. "How many lanes did you want on that bridge?"

To create the success you desire in your mlm business you must learn to understand people and develop the people skills required to work with them. People are different and you cannot treat everybody the same. Remember people will not join your team because of the products but because of you. People join people. So get to work learning to understand people.
When you are promoting your next business event you need to know how to promote to the different type of people. This will give you a guideline to use to help you in working with the people in your team.
If you have read “Personality Plus” or “Personality Profiles” then you will follow my logic quite easily. They are both great books. This information is about 3,000 years old as even Hippocrates mentioned it.
People are divided by whether they are outgoing or reserved, see the graph, and whether they are people oriented or task oriented. Find yourself on this scale and then
you can begin to understand yourself a little better. Ask yourself if you are more outgoing or reserved, and are you more task oriented or people oriented? Then ask yourself where your people on your team are on this graph to begin to understand them better.
The people on your team are all over the graph and you will need to learn have to work with them and especially how to promote to them.
The different Personality Types are:
High D also called Choleric or color Red: The High “D” person is very driven, The “D” stands for Dominate, Demanding Doer. These people get everything started, but they want to do everything their way and right now. They do love a challenge. High D’s are also called Alpha’s. They can be great leaders once they learn to be servant leaders and not so focused on their own goals, which they almost always have. They are usually right to the point in their conversation, so do not think they are impersonal on purpose.
Promoting to High D’s is as easy as telling them that all of the leaders will be there and since they are natural leaders, at least in their own mind, they will go to the event.
High I, also called Sanguine or color Blue: The high “I” stands for Influencing. They are outgoing and people oriented. These people are all about having fun. And they remind the rest of us to have some fun along the way in this life. They usually like bright colors and they like to talk most of the time. They are very short term thinkers and do not pay attention to details at all. They usually lose things like their car keys and they even forget where they parked. They frequently are late as they pay little attention to the time. At the end of the day they are thinking about people, who they talked to and who they will see tomorrow.
To promote your next business event to them you must tell them of all the fun they are going to have and since they love to travel and have fun, they will come.
High C, also called Melancholy or color Green: High C’s are very logical thinkers. The high “C” stands for Cautious. They are very detail oriented. Everything has a place and everything in its place type of person. The toilet paper must come over the top to be correct. They analyze everything and can be overly analytical. They are great a making list and getting things done and getting them off of their list. You must remind them to stop their analysis and get on with doing the work sometimes. These people are more comfortable with computers than people so they migrate to jobs as programmers and accountants.
When promoting to high C’s you need to inform them of all the details they will learn at the event.
High S, also called Phlegmatic or color Yellow: The High “S” stands for Sensitive. These are very friendly people who like being a part of a team. They are the people who are working in the background with others like the kitchen committee at your church. Be gentle with them as they will drop out if anybody yells at them or even if it is just a perceived yell. They are not motivated by goals, but enjoy working with people.
When you promote your next business event to them, you simply tell them about it and tell them to write you a check. They will obey.
So take the time to learn these basics to understand your people. Consider what are the personality types your main people in your team so you can better help them to grow and build their businesses and thus yours also. This will help you to create the mlm success your desire.
To Your Success,
